For those of you wanting to work on your digital humanities, computing, mapping, visualizing, big data skills — perhaps HackingScience is for you! They are having an all-day Hackathon this Monday, Jan 21 (I will be there) where you can work on a project or on learning a new skill (R for data analysis, anyone?) in the company of like-minded folks — and maybe some experts.  If you want to learn more, visit: http://sites.psu.edu/hackingscience/2013/01/08/hackathon-jan-21/

They also have occasional introductory hands-on sessions for things like mapping tools, GitHub, and HTML/CSS. Here’s how you can join or keep up with their activities:

Let’s turn HackingScience into HackingScience+Humanities!
