Our next DH Interest Group meet-up is almost here — this Friday, April 26th from 12:30-2:30 in Mann Assembly Room, Paterno Library. *Please note the time change from our usual noon-2:00 time slot.

This week we have Patricia Gael and Joshua Stevens sharing their research and expertise.

Patricia Gael, a PhD candidate in English, will talk about her research on 18th c. book publishing in London and how she is incorporating “big data” and quantitative work into traditional humanities research.

Joshua Stevens, a PhD candidate in Geography, will share his expertise on mapping tools for analysis and visualization of spatial data, including a hands-on demo of CartoDB. Datasets for CartoDB will be provided, so bring your laptop if you wish to follow along.

As always, there will be coffee and snacks and folks are encouraged to bring a lunch. We’ll also have special party favors this time to celebrate a wonderfully successful first year of the DH Interest Group!
