We are hosting our first DH Interest Group Meet-Up of the semester this week. Please join us on Friday, January 31 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM if you’re curious about the Digital Humanities, if you’re interested in integrating digital tools into your teaching and research, or even if you have an idea for a project and would like to brainstorm.
The theme for this meeting is Digital Collections. Carolyn Lucarelli, Visual Resources Curator in the Department of Art History, will join us to talk about publishing past exhibitions of The Palmer Museum of Art in Omeka and Sandy Stelts and Dawn Childress will introduce us to the travel diaries of the Allison-Shelley collection. We’d also like to have a discussion on digital collections and researcher’s needs.
As those who’ve attended our get-togethers before know, these are informal gatherings that can be used as a platform for brainstorming ideas. Please feel free to share your projects with us and encourage your students, colleagues, and friends to attend.
The meet-ups take place in the Mann Assembly Room, Paterno Library (and there are always lots of yummy snacks). If you are unable to attend next week’s meeting, there will be three more chances to attend this semester.

I hope to see you there!
